The Royal Oak, a 14th Century building, situated in the old street of Goodramgate, York!

Real AleGood-ram-gate was named after the entrance way for goods that were to be delivered to the Market place close by the historic Shambles, York. The name of the street dates back to the Viking era.
At the Royal Oak we pride ourselves on the quality of ale we sell. We have three permanent ales, these are:
Theakston Best Bitter 3.8%
Theakston Old Peculier 5.6%
Abbot Ale 5.0%

Music every Wednesday and Friday

Gypsy Bill and Del Potter play the Blues on Wednesday evenings from 9pm. Friday night is popular covers evening with Brambles Knapskin or Adam Dawson.
Pub quiz every Sunday from 8.30 pm with a gallon of ale for the winning team.  Other prizes given to winners including a box of chocolates, bottle of wine and Lottery scratch card. The quiz questions include general knowledge, taste challenge and a music round.
